The Hardys

This project was a pleasure to design and manufacture for this lovely family in Halifax. We were fortunate to have a lovely big space to work with, but we did suggest the removal of a chimney breast to maximise usage. The colours chosen have maximum impact in giving this 1930's property a real retro feeling to this bespoke plywood kitchen. As you can see in the testimonial, it's loved by all the family!

Client Comments

We are delighted with our new kitchen and have no hesitation in recommending Jim, Tim and the team at Wood & Wire.

We have always enjoyed good design and love the distinctive and colourful retro-modern design of Wood & Wire's kitchen units and furniture. What a difference from the bland white high gloss finish offered by most leading kitchen companies. It was great to have Jim Leach as our point of contact from start to finish - planning and design, fitting, and after sales contact.  We have found him to be easily contactable, friendly and helpful.

At the planning stage it was great to personally choose the location of the appliances and the size, location and colour of all drawers and cupboards- all with expert guidance and advice from Jim.  It's fantastic to have made-to-measure units with no untidy filler sections, or 'dead' space boxed in above overhead cupboards. Jim can offer bespoke in-cupboard storage solutions which means work surfaces can remain tidy and clutter-free. The custom-made chopping board storage designed by Jim is one of our favourite features!

We are delighted to have a locally-made hand-built kitchen produced by skilled designers and cabinet makers. As part of the process it was very exciting to visit the workshop to see our kitchen taking shape before it was fitted. The finished kitchen is both an attractive and practical work-space.

We chose to manage the project ourselves- Wood & Wire were able to recommend tradespeople for the plumbing and electrical work. Jim and Tim were able to maintain a constructive relationship with other contractors, kept a tidy work-space and were courteous and punctual. The kitchen fit was relatively trouble-free and was completed in the expected timescale. Jim and Tim showed care and attention to detail at the fitting stage and we are very happy with the quality of the units and the overall finish.
We cannot recommend Wood & Wire highly enough, the pictures of our kitchen on their website speak for themselves.

Thank you, Wood & Wire
