The Taylor- Halseys

This award-winning plywood kitchen sits as part of the Northern Design Awards Amazing Space 2018. We were excited as well as privileged to work alongside architects, Gagarin Studio, and the Taylor-Halsey family. For this project we were invited to develop a number of items alongside the architects, in the end expanding our reach beyond the kitchen to manufacture and supply a sofa, table, media unit and storage unit, all as well as the main kitchen scheme. In the kitchen, the main storage and utilities were housed in a run of tall units, leaving the rest of the kitchen in no need of any further wall storage apart from a single wall-to-wall shelf for the family's most-used crockery.

The large island unit houses the induction hob, allowing a chef clear views of the dining area and the stunning valley beyond. In the living room, our huge Baubuche sofa and plywood table were made proportionately to the available space, and their oversized frames allow the family to really lounge around or enjoy a rowdy game of Monopoly! Meanwhile, the media centre and small accompanying storage pieces house the family’s prized collection of music, games and books.
