The Peevers

This teak kitchen combines warmth, sustainability and mid-century spirit in a beautifully balanced space. Using eco teak veneer over birch ply cabinetry, this design delivers both conscience and character, a kitchen that looks good and does good.

Built for a family who wanted calm, natural materials and a clutter-free layout, the kitchen wraps two sides of the open-plan dining area. One wall houses integrated Siemens ovens, a flush gas hob, and slimline overhead cabinets that keep the space feeling light. Below, deep drawers with handleless doors keep the visual lines clean and uninterrupted.

The opposite wall is dedicated to storage and prep, with a long run of low cabinetry beneath black-framed mullion windows and a Franke tap. The splash of patterned wall tiles behind the dining table adds a playful backdrop that contrasts beautifully with the grain of the teak and the quiet white quartz worktops.

The open dining area is anchored by a warm timber table and spindle-back chairs, continuing the natural material palette and tying the space together. Subtle plant styling softens the corners, while integrated shelf space keeps favourite objects and cookbooks within reach but out of the way.

It’s a kitchen that doesn’t try too hard, but absolutely delivers. Practical, elegant, and full of timeless detail, this design proves that minimalist doesn’t mean sterile, and natural doesn’t have to be rustic. Just quality materials, sharp thinking, and a whole lot of heart.
