The Huxter & Mckewans

The soft pink kitchen for the Huxter & McKewans in London is a beautifully layered space where colour, texture, and functionality come together in perfect balance. This project radiates warmth and individuality, showing just how much personality a thoughtfully designed kitchen can hold.

The cabinetry pairs earthy green laminate with oak veneered plywood, creating a grounded, organic feel that contrasts beautifully with the soft pink walls. A subtle terracotta colour splashback ties the palette together, bringing texture and a handcrafted edge.

The layout maximises light and space, with generous open shelving, built-in bookcases, and display niches that let the clients’ collections of ceramics, cookbooks, and art shine. A large skylight above floods the space with natural light, highlighting the warm tones of the timber and bouncing softly off the pink walls.

Integrated appliances, including a sleek Siemens oven stack, sit cleanly within the cabinetry, while a pale veined worktop runs the length of the kitchen, maintaining an open, uncluttered feel. Details like the framed pocket door, custom bookshelf pantry, and full-height storage wall ensure that every inch of space is used purposefully.

This project celebrates everyday life, it’s a kitchen for cooking, gathering, reading, and pausing, all wrapped in a palette that feels joyful and calm. It’s a brilliant example of how colour can create mood without overpowering a space.
